Hans Kleiber
1887 - 1967
Born in Germany, Hans Kleiber, moved to the United States in
1906 and resided in Wyoming. He became know as "The Wyoming Artist of
the Big Horn Mountains". He worked as a U.S. Forest Ranger until
resigning in 1924 to devote his time to art. Self-taught, Kleiber
worked in oils and watercolors and was a master etcher. His work is in
the collection of the Library of Congress, the Wyoming State Art Museum, The
University of Wyoming, The Montana Historical Society and The Buffalo Bill
Historical Society.
