George Wise

George Wise was born in Ilwasco, Washington, and began his professional art career in 1978 following a decade as an educator.  Most of his original work is done in watercolor or oil and his subjects are generally set in the Northwest U.S.   George  has been quoted as saying, "I like most anything with character --that's why my subject matter is so varied".  His titles are as varied as the Northwest's terrain and culture including historical themes, wildlife, landscapes and seascapes.  His ability to capture the persona of his subjects is what gives George's work its uniqueness.  George currently resides in Pocatello, Idaho.
